The UAE National Rail Network developer and operator, Etihad Rail has agreed a collaboration with Italian luxury hospitality company Arsenale to build a luxury train experience that pays tribute to Emirati tradition and heritage. The luxury train will travel all across UAE toward the borders of Oman. This train route will expand across the wider regions of the Gulf after the GCC Railway starts functioning.
This is the second International luxury train project that the company is going to undertake, after its latest announcement of The Dream of the Desert project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Luxury Train Will Showcase Emirati Heritage To Tourists
The CEO of Etihad Rail, Shadi Malak in a statement said that by launching this luxury train experience, they are offering a distinctive world-class experience to the region and contributing to enhancing the tourism sector in the UAE. They will also be showcasing the nation’s unique heritage and beauty to guests around the world.
The Arsenale group shared that the luxury carriages for the train are crafted to mirror the Emirati heritage. The upscale interiors and onboard services, as well as Arsenale’s signature “made in Italy” signature branding will play an integral part in the production.
Paolo Barletta, The CEO of Arsenale added in a statement that they were excited to work together with Etihad Rail on this project that will promote the discovery of a magical and interesting territory outside of the famous spots of Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Mr. Barletta also added that the future of tourism is Railway cruising and the company wants to make it available in one of the most beautiful destinations in the world, with their motive of introducing a fascinating and sustainable method of travel.
Arsenale reported in a press statement that the UAE will be one of the globe’s first nations to have a luxury cruise service with customized trains. The train comprises 15 luxury carriages that will travel through Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Fujairah, and pass along the borders of Oman. The carriages will be revamped in their factories located in Puglia and Sicily, Italy. The building, artistry, top-notch quality services on board, and interior design will be of an Italian vibe.

This announcement was declared at the UAE’s Middle East Rail event, the largest transport event in the region. This conference hosted over 10,000 guests, comprising 300 exhibitors and 600 VIPs, and 8 ministers from Europe, the UK, North Africa, and the GCC, featuring 30 countries in total. It was during this event that Etihad Rail signed seven agreements to evolve this sector.
It was just a few months ago, Saudi Arabian authorities announced its collaboration with Aresenale group to introduce the first luxury train in the kingdom. The project is titled Dream of the Desert Train and will be launched in the year 2025. This luxury train service will be commuting travelers from Riyadh to Qurayyat.
