European Hiker Found Dead After Falling From Mountain In Ras Al Khaimah

After falling from a mountain in the UAE, the body of a young European national who had gone missing was found. The hiker’s body was eventually located on February 14, and it appears that Ras Al Khaimah and Dubai Police worked together to search for it. It has been determined that the mountain fall was what killed the person.

The Austrian embassies in Abu Dhabi and Muscat are assisting the local authorities in Ras Al Khaimah and are prepared to support the hiker’s family. They are in frequent communication with them.

According to the man’s sister, he wandered off and failed to show up at the prearranged meeting place. This is probably what made her call the police and report him missing.

The Ras Al Khaimah Police swiftly acted and started a search and rescue operation after being notified of a missing person last Saturday evening (February 11). The authorities searched the area extensively before finding the deceased’s body near the foot of the mountain.

Another British hiker sustained serious injuries later that year after falling 100 meters down a RAK mountain. The 52-year-old was evacuated to a hospital for treatment after falling in the Wadi Shaha region close to Jebel Jais. The fall caused him to suffer many fractures and head injuries. 

These occurrences show how crucial it is to plan ahead and have the right gear before starting a hiking expedition in Ras Al Khaimah or anywhere else.
