Hamdan Bin Mohammed Attends UAE SWAT Challenge 2023

The 4th edition of the UAE SWAT Challenge was held on February 23rd, 2023, at the Dubai Police training facility in Al Rowaiyah, and it was attended by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council. The event commenced on February 20th and was scheduled to conclude on February 24th.

UAE SWAT Challenge 

In the UAE SWAT Challenge, the teams competing in five different tests—tactical, assault, officer rescues, tower events, and obstacle courses—will compete, according to Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri. These exercises aim to evaluate the teams’ tactical skills, mental flexibility, and physical stamina.

The challenges’ main goals are to promote knowledge sharing and improve SWAT teams’ capabilities. 55 teams from different nations are participating in the UAE SWAT Competition in 2023.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also attended a special event at the UAE SWAT Challenge, during which the Dubai Police C team which is also known as the first all-woman SWAT team of the Dubai Police, demonstrated their skills.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police expressed gratitude for the assistance given to the special forces by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, which allowed them to apply best practices in SWAT operations.

He recognized the significance of the organization’s unique addition to its special task forces, the all-female SWAT team.

The female SWAT squad members received in-depth training in all aspects of SWAT missions, including tactical shooting, raids, snipers, and endurance. According to him, this extensive preparation gave them the necessary knowledge and abilities to compete successfully in both national and international events

Moreover, Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri said that Dubai Police is extremely proud of its female employees because they are driven to succeed and devoted to learning the skills required to do so in specialised fields. He highlighted their outstanding achievement in the sixth Police Championship for Special Teams, which was run by the Dubai Police and the Police Sports Federation.

Towards the end of the visit, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was presented with a memento by the all-woman SWAT team, as a gesture of appreciation for his support. Also, he took part in an official photo shoot with the leaders of the teams taking part in the UAE SWAT Challenge 2023.

UAE All-Women SWAT

The region’s first all-female SWAT team, a unit of the Dubai Police, is based in the United Arab Emirates. 15 highly trained female police officers make up this unit, which was founded in 2017. They received specialised training in a number of tactical abilities, including hostage rescue, close-quarters combat, and the use of various weapons.

The establishment of the all-female SWAT team was carried out in order to support gender equality in the UAE and empower women. It also aimed to advance the status of women in law enforcement and give them equal opportunity to defend and serve their nation.
