The people from Sudan who visited the United Arab Emirates were unable to return to their country due to the internal conflict in Sudan. The conflict between the rival forces broke out in the city of Khartoum and in the Darfur region on 15th April 2023.

Due to the cancellation of airline services, many people from Sudan were not able to return to their homeland. However different nations have started evacuation procedures to help the people from other countries who got stuck in Sudan because of the conflict.

The government of the UAE and other responsible authorities have taken every measure to ensure the safety of the Sudanese people. Earlier Sheikh Mohammed issued an order to provide humanitarian aid to the Sudanese people who were not able to return to their country due to the conflict.

He stated that there lie deep ties of friendship and respect between the United Arab Emirates and Sudan. He also highlighted the historical and cultural connection shared by the two countries.

The humanitarian aid will be provided under the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives. It will provide food and medical supplies and will extend assistance to those who are most affected by the displacement.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed the dedication of the UAE to providing support to its fellow Arab countries. The country always shows steadfast determination in providing aid and assistance in times of need as a reflection of its strong belief in humanitarian principles, he said.

He further added that this action taken by the United Arab Emirates represents the nation’s commitment to humanitarian work and its main principles.
