UAE celebrated its 51st National Day on December 2nd and the new President of UAE Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan gave his first Presidential address. He expressed confidence in the future of the UAE and its commitment to all of humanity. Sheikh Mohamed emphasized that the top priority of the UAE has always been to take proper care of its citizens and also to foster a spirit of development and creativity within their minds. He thanked us for the efforts of all individuals who strived to make UAE a great union and hoped that the year that lies ahead is also an opportunity to work towards building an unwavering legacy founded on strength, hard work, and commitment.
UAE will be a strong supporter of humanity and its development
The UAE was established in 1971 by forming a union of six emirates namely Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al-Quwain, and Fujairah.
The seventh emirate, Ras Al Khaimah, got into the union in 1972. Big celebrations are held throughout the UAE on its national day with people dressing up in UAE flag colors and also engaging in decorations of their homes, workplaces, etc. Fireworks are set up in the Downtown Dubai area with the UAE flag being on display at Burj Khalifa as part of the day-long celebrations.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed also remembered the late former President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his great efforts to bring UAE to its glorious present and his presence was formidable at every step of UAE’s development. In 2022, after the Covid pandemic phase, UAE is aggressively expanding itself on different frontiers of infrastructure, tourism, tech, real estate, start-ups, the service sector, etc.
Sheik Mohamed said that UAE is willing to do everything in its power to create a diverse economic palette that suits all kinds of professionals and investors. The opportunities that are being laid down for the progress of the emirates as individual entities, as well as a Union, are important in this journey.
The diversification project aims at bringing in wide sources of income by creating an economy that can compete on the global level. The citizens of UAE should also aspire to become global citizens whose intellect and social responsibility are based on high ideal standards. This is possible by making the pursuit of knowledge and will to learn a life-long goal.
One of the major goals of the UAE is to cultivate a powerful spirit in the youth of the nation so that their minds can also work in tandem to mold a bright future using their creative energy. The President stressed that the future of a young nation like the UAE depends on the endearing energy of its youth.
They have the power and vision to bring about great positive changes in the social, economic, and cultural arenas. They have proved that in the past years too with their sole dedication and commitment to the betterment of the UAE.
The role of women in strengthening the nation was another topic he spoke about. Every society or economy can achieve greatness with the active involvement of women. So it is important that in the next stage of development, the youth should evolve themselves to a greater knowledge level by acquiring world-class education and professional qualification.
At the same time, UAE will also wholeheartedly embrace talents and aspiring minds from around the world who wish to participate in the nation-building process. Sheikh Mohamed said that UAE was built on the idea of diversity and inclusion and this shall be the future too where everyone can live and progress with dignity and peaceful coexistence.
The President also hopes that UAE will be a messenger of global peace and stability and hopes to resolve any kind of conflict through diplomatic intervention. The UAE will go in all possible ways to sort out opportunities that can foster better relationships in the local and international scene to promote peace and anti-extremism.
