Sharjah is all set to witness the commencement of the T-20 International cricket series in the coming week. Pakistan’s men’s cricket team is ready to participate in this tournament against its neighbours with renewed zeal and competitiveness.
The team discussed their strategy at the National Cricket Academy on Wednesday and thereafter boarded their national carrier at 4 pm to reach Dubai.
In a three-match series, the team will face Afghanistan. The bilateral matches are currently scheduled to be played between the two countries on March 24,26 and 27 in Sharjah. The teams are really excited about this face-off.Â
It is after a long time that Pakistan and Afghanistan have been paired against each other in an international T-20 series. According to the media reports, many people are travelling to Dubai to attend this historic match.
The two countries are connected to each other in various respects. Despite sharing cultural and religious similarities, they are separated by ideology and their passion for sports. The teams have already arrived in Dubai and the preparations for the upcoming match are underway.Â
A team of 14 players from Pakistan would be playing the match against Afghanistan
The men’s cricket team will be headed by Head coach Abdul Rehnan. However, Mohammed Yusuf who happens to be the batting coach would not be able to come along with the team to Dubai.
In his absence, Abdul Rehman will discharge all the duties. The two coaches have already discussed the strategy and briefed the players about the same.
The head coach Abdul Rehman will look after the effective execution of the strategies and will guide the team members during the match as and when required.
His leadership has proved to be extremely beneficial for the men’s cricket team of Pakistan in the past. He, therefore, enjoys the confidence of the team members.Â
All the team players including Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Saim Ayub, Shan Masood, Tayyab Tahir, Zaman Khan, Abdullah Shafique, Azam Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Iftikhar Ahmed, Ihsanullah are taking part in this match.
Naseem Shah is currently in Dubai itself and therefore he would be joining all the team members directly. In addition, the cricket team is also accompanied by a support team.Â
This support team comprises experts and professional personnel who look after the administration and management aspects. The support team includes Mansoor Rana who is the team manager and a physiotherapist, Cliffe Deacon.
It also includes four coaches namely Abdul Rehman (head coach), Umar Gul (bowling coach), Drikus Saaimon (strength and conditioning coach) and Abdul Majeed (fielding coach). Media and Digital managers and security managers also accompany the team to Dubai.
The men’s team from Pakistan has come well equipped and well prepared this time in order to give a tough competition to Afghanistan.Â
On the other hand, Afghanistan is all on its toes to defeat Pakistan in this T20 international match series. The Chief Executive of the Afghanistan Cricket Board has recently shared with the media that the best and the most skilful players have been chosen for this international series in Dubai.
The team from Afghanistan is led by Rashid Khan. Rashid Khan is a very strategic international player who has represented Afghanistan in various matches. He has been awarded various awards for his exemplary performance and leadership skills so far.
In a recent interview, Rashid Khan expressed satisfaction with the team’s preparation levels for the upcoming match.Â
The Afghanistan men’s cricket team has really worked hard this time according to the recent statement of Rashid Khan. They have practised for long hours in order to improve their skills. The Afghanistan Cricket Board has followed a rigorous process to select the best players to represent the nation in the international test series.
Former captain Mohammed Nabi is also a part of the team. This will be the first time after November 2022 that he would be playing on the ground against Pakistan.

The Afghanistan cricket board has introduced certain changes in the composition of the team this team. It had not included openers like Hazratullah Zazai in the team this time. In addition, Rehmat Shah who was a very well-known and competent middle-order batsman has also been dropped from the squad for the upcoming match.
The Board has added players like Sediqullah Atal to the team. Sediqullah Atal would be making his debut for the country of Afghanistan through this match.Â
