Sheikh Hamdan Announces Exemption For Housing Loans To 426 Low-income Citizens

With the directives of his father, the ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the crown prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum declares exemption for their housing loans to 426 citizens with very low income. The total loan amount of the 426 citizens amounts to 146 million AED.

This decision to relieve the less fortunate citizens from the burdens of housing loans proves to the world that the sense of benevolence and concern for the citizens is the hallmark of the Dubai government.

The Crown Prince of Dubai made this announcement on 19th of April, Wednesday via Twitter. He added that the government of Dubai would continue to create and execute initiatives and schemes that will work as a framework to improve the standard of living for all the citizens of Dubai. 

Sheikh Hamdan mandated the Higher Committee for Development and Citizens Affairs to supervise the smooth execution of the decision, ensuring a fast and efficient loan exemption process.

This initiative from the part of the Dubai government was very generous and kind. And on this auspicious occasion of Eid coinciding, it is a celebratory moment of commemorating empathy and fraternity. Eid Al Fitr is all about spirituality and sacrifice and an occasion to empathize with people who are less fortunate. And this generosity from the leaders makes the celebration even more meaningful.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also holds the position of Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai and Chairman of the Higher Committee for Development and Citizens Affairs. 

Sheikh Hamdan is known for his strategic endeavors. Recently he made news by approving 200 Corporate transformation initiatives which include the beautification of Dubai City, and many more projects aimed at enhancing living conditions in addition to agreeing with more sustainable initiatives and projects.

In February 2023, the crown prince launched the “Emirati” initiative, a single window platform developed to offer the people all the city services they might need through the DubaiNow application. On that occasion too, he stressed their major aim, which was to raise the city’s digital economy and make the services easily accessible to the citizens for their well-being.

And towards the end of the last year, Dubai’s Higher Committee for Development and Citizens Affairs implemented 50 schemes targeting improving the standard of living in the emirate. It majorly focused on executing a comprehensive plan to improve long-term social, family and demographic stability and increase the quality of life of the residents, as well as a chance to provide diverse opportunities to the young residents of the Dubai Emirates. Then too, Sheikh Hamdan declared that as directed by his father, Sheikh Mohammed, serving their citizens is their highest priority.
