Dubai: Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Visits Region’s Biggest Construction Event

The ruler and the president of UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid visited the largest construction event in the Middle East, South Asia, and Africa, at the Dubai World Trade Center. The 43rd edition of Big5 which is taking place from December 5-8 is considered the biggest event in the field of construction and industries.

Many companies around the world participated in the event. Big 5 exhibition invites various stakeholders and countries to come up with new innovations and make remarkable growth in their industry locally, regionally, and globally.

Speaking at the inauguration of the event, Sheikh Mohammed said that international events such as Big5 play a major role in boosting the growth and development of the nation.

Such events provide opportunities to many countries in their respective industries. The event supports the nation in achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 and also helps to enhance the economic sector by promoting various businesses which is a main source of revenue. 

The Big 5 international Building and Construction show gives the building and construction sector a stage on which to present time and money-saving methods through various innovative ways. With 45 approved free seminars taking place, in addition to major conferences and live demos, the event also offers unmatched access to industry information.

These programs mainly focus on creating a platform to make use of new technologies and invent more unique methods in the industry. There are 55 CPD-certified workshops available at The Big 5 International building & construction show, PMV Live, and Middle East Concrete. 

Sheikh said that the event provides a global platform for major companies, investors, and institutions in the field of construction, building, and facility management sector and encourages them to contribute in the way to develop and discuss new ideas which can shape a new future for the industry.

The event was set to attract 55,000 attendees from around the world. More than 2000 participants from 60 countries are taking part in the mega event this week. 

HH Sheikh Mohammed also mentioned robust events and exhibit industries, which provide a venue for establishing new alliances and creating several new business opportunities.

He added that Dubai’s favorable business and investment environment, the city’s desire to enhance collaboration with its international partners, and its capacity to discover new opportunities all contribute to the city’s ability to support the expansion of the global economy by hosting various events.

The event was also attended by His Excellency Suhail Mohammed Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure: His Excellency Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism: His Excellency Butti Saeed Al Kindi,  Second Deputy Chairman of the Dubai World Trade Center; His Excellency Dawoud Al Hajri, Director General, Dubai Municipality; and His Excellency Khalifa Zaffin, Executive Chairman of the Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai South.

The annual Big5 and nine specialized events allow business leaders and professionals in the industry to find items for each stage of a construction project: Middle East Stone, Windows, Doors and Facades Events, The Big 5 Solar, Gulf Glass, and HVAC R Expo. The Big Heavy, Urban Design & Landscape Expo, FMExpo, and Middle East Concrete. These events address the entire industry ecosystem.  

The event was organized in a way that ensured 55,000+ attendees attended the expo of four days and provide them a chance to discover a host of experiences curated to make their visit more engaging.
