Sheikh Mohammed Donate AED 250 Million To The 1 Billion Meals Campaign 

The Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is also the Vice President, Prime Minister and the Minister of Defence of the UAE announced his contribution worth AED 250 million to the ‘1 Billion Meals Endowment’ campaign on Tuesday.  The contribution has supported the campaign to exceed its target of 1 billion meals for the underprivileged during the month of Ramadan.

The Aim Of This Campaign Is To Provide Support To Communities

The ‘1 Billion Meals Endowment’ campaign was launched with the aim to provide support to deprived communities all over the world during the month of Ramadan. The objectives of the campaign echo the commitment of the UAE to developing policies and solutions as a means to provide humanitarian support to people worldwide. 

The campaign was organized under the direction of the Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The UAE has organized such campaigns in 2020, 2021 and 2022 also and this campaign comes as an extension of the previous ones. 

The Aim Of This Campaign Is To Provide Support To Communities

Ramadan is considered the holy month of the year according to the Islamic calendar. This campaign intends to provide food security to the underprivileged during the holy month. Sheikh Mohammed announced his contribution in the form of money and real estate which is worth AED 250 million. 

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum expressed his gratitude to all the contributors who supported the largest food endowment fund in achieving its target.  He further said that kindness and charity are the basis of this campaign and the UAE will continue to accept donations till the end of the year. 

Sheikh Mohammed added that the status of the UAE in humanitarian services both globally and regionally has improved with the ‘1 Billion Meals Endowment’ campaign. It has helped to promote the strong commitment and dedication shown by the nation in supporting people and communities in need all over the world. 

The major contributors who donated to the campaign were honoured as a part of the successful celebration of the campaign. The major supporters who made contributions to the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives and the largest food aid endowment fund were called to ring the opening bell of the Nasdaq Dubai market. 

The campaign has received great acceptance from the public with the number of contributors exceeding 180,000 within just four weeks. The donations were received in the form of money from individuals and businesses, land, corporate shares etc. Besides thousands of community members have joined in for the daily subscription to contribute to the campaign.

The success of the campaign is proof that the UAE will excel in its journey to be a dynamic hub for humanitarian work both globally and regionally.

This success was made possible with the directions of Sheikh Mohammed and under the guidance of President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The campaign aims to implement programs and initiatives to wipe out hunger all over the world in collaboration with charitable institutions, businesses and humanitarian organisations. It also supports promoting the UAE ideals of human solidarity and generosity.

Thus it targets to support the Zero Hunger goal, thereby strengthening the contribution of the nation towards global humanitarian work.
