UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Issues New Law Establishing Abu Dhabi Transport Company

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates and the Ruler of the emirate of Abu Dhabi, has issued a new law that establishes the Abu Dhabi Transport Company.

The new company will be functioning under the supervision of the Supreme Council for Financial and Economic Affairs and is aimed at supporting the existing integrated transport ecosystem within the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

One of the key motives of the new Abu Dhabi Transport Company will be to ensure that all the necessary contributions are made to the development of an effective, efficient, and sustainable transport system that can ultimately benefit the residents and citizens within the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The newly established Abu Dhabi Transport Company will have Road, Rail, and Other Transportation Facilities

According to the official tweet made on the Abu Dhabi Media Office Twitter handle, the Supreme Council for Financial and Economic Affairs has issued a new resolution in order to form the Abu Dhabi Transport Company Board of Directors, which will have Theyad bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as the Chairman.

Other board members of the Abu Dhabi Transport Company include Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Muna Ali Al Dhaheri, Shadi Khalid Malak, Saeed Rashid Al Zaabi, Talal Shafiq Al Dhiyebi, and Ahmed Al Musawa Al Hashemi.

The Abu Dhabi Transport Company will also have responsibilities that will focus on the development, operation, and improvement of transport systems in both the rural as well as urban parts of Abu Dhabi.

Moreover, the newly issued company will also have the responsibility to oversee any activities that relate to its mandate, with the end goal being to ensure that a well-planned as well as coordinated approach is considered to improve the development of transportation facilities within the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The company will also collaborate with other relevant government entities within the emirate of Abu Dhabi to ensure that the objectives laid out by the company are achieved in a timely and efficient manner.

The formation of the Abu Dhabi Transport Company is considered to be a significant approach in terms of improving and modernizing the transportation facilities that currently exist in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.
