UAE Rulers Order To Release Thousands Of Prisoners Ahead Of National Day

According to the Country’s 51st National day celebration in the United Arab Emirates, its rulers pardon more than 3000 inmates from Dubai and Abu Dhabi punitive and correctional institutions.

From the list, 1,040 inmates from Dubai and 1,530 from Abu Dhabi were selected. 333 prisoners were ordered to release from Sharjah by Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the ruler of Sharjah.  Dubai public prosecution and Dubai police have started working together to implement the order.

The ruler of Fujairah, Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi ordered to release of 153 prisoners from various countries, according to some considerations of their behaviour and conduct during their imprisonment.

Ajman Ruler Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi ordered the release of 111 prisoners. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi ruler of Ras Al Khaimah ordered to release of 417 prisoners.

Every year eid, Ramadan, and national day take as an occasion to pardon hundreds of inmates from correctional institutions as a humanitarian gesture of the country. The movement from the rulers helped to reduce the struggles faced by their families.

Rulers hope they will start a new life when they release from the correctional institution gate. They will use it as a second chance to live politely with their families in their community. And UAE president Sheikh Mohamed  Bin Zayed Al Nahyan released 1530 inmates from the Abu Dhabi correctional institutions. The release of 1040 inmates was ordered by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai,  Vice President, and Prime Minister of UAE. 

Highlights

Sheikh Mohammed’s decisions highlight his keenness to give a chance to new life to the inmates of correctional institutions. Said Chancellor Essam Issa Al Humaidan, Attorney general of Dubai. 

Not only in the case of releasing prisoners, but Sharjah also announce a 50% discount on traffic fines. Discount applies on the violations committed before December 1 and it avail between December 1 and 2023 January 20.

As part of the national day celebrations debt relief funds are announced for the financial institutions to waive the debts of 1,214 Emirati Citizens. 

In 2018, UAE celebrate its 47th national day with the release of 1800 prisoners.

Traffic Rules By The Dubai Police For National Day Celebrations

Don’t modify the colours of the cars but can do temporary decorations.

Rallies are not allowed because they cause traffic jams.

Passengers must be seated while travelling.

Decorating vehicles with inappropriate stickers and offensive phrases is prohibited.

Try not to cover the front and back licence plates while you decorate the vehicles.

Stunts and reckless driving are not allowed.

Do not cover the side window.

Don’t open sunroofs during travelling. 

Guidelines For National Day Celebrations

Marches are not allowed

Random gatherings are prohibited

Vehicles don’t carry passengers more than the number allowed.

Vehicles with noise materials are restricted.

Fines

Reckless driving – Dh 2,000 fine, 23 black points, and vehicles will impound for 60 days.

Stopping a vehicle in the middle of the road for no reason – Dh 1000 fine, six black points.

Making noise while driving – Dh 2,000 fine, 12 black points. 

Tint on windows more than the limit – Dh 1,500 fine.
