It’s Sunday and that means that most of us are counting down the clock until 7pm when the final of the FIFA World Cup is set to kick off. The rest of us, well, we’re counting down the days until the weekend, again… To help you do just that, we’ve shortlisted eight great activities that will, hopefully, help you not only survive the week ahead but enjoy it.

The Laughter Factory July Tour

Dubai Comedy - Jimmy Shubert

The rib tickling continues throughout the summer thanks to The Laughter Factory’s latest tour. As always, the comedy bookers are flying in the international stand-ups acts to that will have you guffawing in the aisles. Philadelphia-born Jimmy Shubert jets in to deliver his no-holds barred brand of comedy that’s definitely not for the faint hearted. Like The Simpsons’ Troy McClure, you’ll probably recognise Shubert shows such as Entourage, Maron and The King of Queens. British radio and TV star Sally-Anne Hayward will bring her act tinged with relatable and hilarious takes. And Canada’s own Nick Beaton completes the trio with his laser-targeted jabs at his own personal life and the world around us.

Ant-Man and the Wasp (15)

Picking up after the events of Civil War, director Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man sequel sees Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) initially under house arrest and making real headway with his magic tricks. In other words, rotting away under lock and key. In classic cinematic tradition he’s just a couple of days away from serving the full two-year sentence handed to him when former associates Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) are back in touch to kickstart – well, if not a high-stakes epic then at least a medium-stakes caper with pitch-perfect blending of Marvel spectacle with Paul Rudd’s everyman comedy. It’s about saving family and vanquishing foes, sure, but it’s also about watching a twenty-foot man ride a flatbed truck like a scooter.
