RARE at Desert Palm Per Aquum



If mouthwatering meaty treats that have been cooked to perfection on a state of the art oak woodfire grill is your idea of the perfect meal, then RARE at Desert Palm Per Aquum is the place for you.

Since reopening its doors late year, the award-winning restaurant has been setting Dubai’s dining scene alight. Quite literally.

Taking pride of place in the bright and contemporary venue is the oak woodfire grill. It’s the key ingredient of the mouthwatering South American and Mediterranean dishes like dry rubbed rib-eye bone and the Australian grain fed black Angus.

And, while the Asado designed grill is without doubt the star of the show, it’s sous chef Joanna Portella and executive chef Stefan Beutler who are responsible for RARE’s unique menu which ranges from freshly shucked Loch Fyne oysters to shrimp and tuna ceviche to seared hand cut beef carpaccio.

They also specialise in a number of meat-free dishes such as salt crust roasted vegetables with melted camembert dressed with chive-sherry cream – yum and their dessert which includes their signature deconstructed tiramisu is to die for.

Their brunches aren’t bad either. Yep, you read it right, they have more than one. The vintage Friday brunch (from AED250, 12.30pm-4pm) showcases the best cuisine that Europe has to offer, while its Saturday brunch (from AED150, 1pm-5pm) features a number of Asian delicacies.

Oh, and its views of Dubai’s skyline aren’t bad either.
