on

The heat has been steadily creeping up for weeks, which means the dreaded summer months are fast approaching. While we’re still below 40 degrees (just), make the most of your last opportunity to dine under the stars with our pic of alfresco restaurants.

Pai Thai
Where: Dar Al Masyaf Hotel, Madinat Jumeirah
Everything is romantic about Pai Thai, not least the traditional abra boat that takes you through the Madinat’s waterways to the restaurant. It has a stellar reputation amongst Dubai residents for its authentic Thai dishes, while visitors are always impressed by the striking outdoor terrace.
Dish to try: The menu is all about traditional cuisine, so famous Thai dishes such as green curry and pad Thai are specialities.

40 Kong
Where:
The H Hotel, Sheikh Zayed Road
As the name would suggest, this rooftop bar is 40 floors up. It can be slightly windy if you catch it on a bad day, but usually the chic cocktail lounge and restaurant is a beautiful outdoor option. Although it’s a favourite for sundowners, the food menu is extensive, so try it out for dinner before the warm weather takes over.
Dish to try: The potato wedges with truffles and parmesan are bar snack perfection.
