Blind Dragon’s 80s Night
What is it about the 1980s that inspires such enthusiasm from people who didn’t live through one single conscious second of them? Well, the music for one thing. From synth pop to glam rock, from Michael Jackson to Bryan Adams and Madonna, it was the decade that had a million memorable tunes… and you’ll be able to hear a good few of them at this slick venue.

Mama Tani Café
Literally meaning “second mother” – and most of us in the UAE could all do with one of those every now and again – there is now a second venue in which to enjoy soul-warming local food. After the 2013 opening on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, Mama Tani has come to Academic City, where they will be again offering Khameer – a type of flat bread with a golden crust served with cheese, labneh or saffron-flavoured cream – and Chebab – the local version of pancakes flavoured with cardamom. Real Emirati hospitality.
