7 New Year’s Eve gala dinners to try in Dubai

If you’d rather not ring in the New Year at a concert or party, this the list for you. We’ve scanned the city and found what we think are seven of the best gala dinners in town.

Bon appetite et bonne année!

Burj Al Arab
You won’t forget New Year here in a hurry. The most iconic location in Dubai is laying on an incredible evening, beginning with a reception on the terrace overlooking the Arabian Gulf before you dine in one of the hotel’s signature restaurants: Bab Al Yam, Al Iwan, Nathan Outlaw at Al Mahara, Al Muntaha or Scape. Then, from midnight, everyone gathers on the terrace again to count down to New Year’s Eve before a party kicks off 2018.

One of the city’s most impressive buildings will host a special black-tie dinner-dance this New Year’s Eve. It begins with pre-dinner beverages and canapés, continues into the auditorium for a special Last Night of the Year Proms performance from the London Concert Orchestra – including soloists Ilona Domnich and Jesus Leon – and is followed by a sit-down dinner under the lights of Burj Khalifa. There’s even a DJ to kick things up after midnight.

The Starry Night Arena at Jumeirah Beach Hotel
Burj Al Arab has some competition from its near-neighbour, the Jumeirah Beach Hotel. This evening begins with a walk into a ballroom bedecked with thousands of stars and enveloped in jazz rhythms. As you sit down to your dinner, you’ll then be entertained by members of the Cirque Du Soleil team, before you are escorted out onto the terrace to watch the fireworks over Burj Al Arab. After midnight, DJ Tony Perry takes things into the early hours.

The evening begins with canapes and beverages in Asateer before diners wander down to the shoreline at 8pm for an expansive buffet. There’s live music from a 30-piece band and an open bar until 3am.
