A New Veganning
Ever heard of Veganuary? It’s a UK-born initiative where folk sign up to go totally meat, fish and dairy-free throughout January and it’s grown exponentially since it started four years ago. The reason we’re telling you this is because if you are trying out the plant-based diet in the UAE this month (or just looking to be a bit healthier), then you’ll be glad to know Inked, a food collective based in Alserkal Avenue, is hosting a new pop-up dining experience, A New Veganning, in collaboration with Greenheart Organic Farms. There’s a five-course set menu of wholesome, vegan dishes for lunch (from 12.30pm) and dinner (from 8.30pm) for AED295. Whether you’re doing it for your health, the animals or the environment, it’s almost certainly worth your time.

Taking its name from the ancient city of Nineveh where the Hanging Gardens of Babylon were supposedly found, Ninive is certainly a modern day wonder. Not only does it look fantastic, with brass, wood, marble and leather coming together to create an authentic Middle Eastern feel, but the Arabic cuisine promises to be equally as brilliant. Dishes include Cheese Briwat, Dolmas, Whole Roasted Lamb and a selection of lip-smacking desserts such as Almond Kunafeh and Camel Milk Ice Cream.

There’s a new smokehouse on the block serving up flavourful BBQ fare to satisfy any carnivorous appetite. The concept is from New York and focuses on smoke, spice and time to deliver its mouthwatering menu. Expect tender brisket, burgers and the enormous Brontosauras Rib. A choice of S’mores bread pudding or Hershey’s pancakes will top things off nicely.

Comme ça Friday Brunch
As the name suggests, there’s a French theme to this brand new brunch. David Myers’ signature dishes are served direct to your table, so expect grilled king prawns, skirt steak, oxtail tartine, and much more. There’s also a wide variety of house beverages and bubbles to be had.
