When it comes to the weekend, we all want one thing – a well-deserved break and the chance to unwind. If you’re like us, you’ll also want superb food to indulge in, which is why Thiptara should be your number one venue choice.

Located in the Palace Downtown Dubai, this culinary gem, which translates to “magic on the water”, not only boasts some of the best views of the iconic Burj Khalifa and the equally impradvertoessive Dubai Fountains, it’s also home to the best set menu of Thai dishes in town.

If you need a bit more convincing, here are three reasons why you should treat yourself at Thiptara this Friday...

1. The view is stunning
Seriously, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better view for lunch than from Thiptara’s brand-new floating deck. Tallest building in the world looming over you? Check. Unrestricted views of the wonderful Dubai Fountains show? Double check. Book yourself a table here for the perfect lunch experience.

2. The set menu is immense and full of variety
From just AED210, you can savour the flavours of Thailand through a delectable three course menu of carefully crafted fare on offer.
Indulge in starters such as the refreshing papaya salad or Satay Gai - grilled chicken thigh skewers served with yellow curry and peanut sauce. Looking for vegetable dish? Then the Poh Piah Phak is for you. It contains mixed veggies and mushroom spring rolls that are served with pip-smacking sweet chili sauce.
For mains, we recommend the Goong Phad Med Mamueng. This pescetarian’s dream consists of sautéed prawns, cashew nuts, capsicum, onions and dry chili, the combination of which provides a flavourful mix that dances on the palette with every mouthful.
Red meat fans are well catered for with the delicious Nuer Phad Phrik Tai Dum. Succulent sautéed beef tenderloin is served with onions and green peppers, before being glazed with black pepper sauce.
If you’re looking for something a bit more traditional to Thai cuisine, the green chicken curry is the dish for you. It features eggplant and basil leaves, and paired with delicate steamed jasmine rice.
You can end your meal on a sweet note with a healthy yet tasty offering of ripe yellow mangoes that are served with sticky rice and coconut cream. However, if you’re feeling a tad more adventurous, try the water chestnut rubies, which come with jack fruit and a hearty helping of coconut ice cream.

3. The service is seamless
Thiptara upholds Thailand’s tradition of being the “land of smiles” by welcoming guests with the customary Thai greeting “Sawatdee Ka”. The staff’s happy attitude translates brilliantly into the service, and that extra mile really helps you to relax throughout your meal.
