REVIEW: Seafire Steakhouse
We’re supposed to give you an overview of everything we tried at Seafire Steakhouse. We get that. But we could equally spend the next few hundred words waxing lyrical about the savoury short rib donuts they serve here. Sure, they’re a starter rather than the main event, but whenever anyone asks us how the restaurant is at The Atlantis, we slip into a trance as we reminisce about the soft donuts stuffed with tender braised beef. These alone are worth the visit, but we’ll try our best to move on.
Perfectly charred meats fill the air delightfully in this cavernous, yet warm venue. We spot the odd celebrity here and there as the light music fills the air and creates a vibrancy that makes you feel at home.
For mains, we order the beef tenderloin fillet and lamb chops, both from famed meat supplier, John Stone. Obviously, the donuts are a hard act to follow, but we’re happy to report that the mains are superb. The char on the fillet holds the flavours brilliantly, delivering a mouthfuls of goodness with every bite. And the lamb, which many restaurants in Dubai seem to get wrong, are equally impressive with the meat flaking from the bone with ease. If sides are your thing, then Seafire has you covered. There’s a wide range of veggies, potato dishes and more to enjoy. We paired our meats with asparagus, creamed spinach and a lovely potato gratin all of which are served up in generous, waist-swelling portions.
Although the meat sweats begin to kick in, we order dessert... to share. Well, it’d be rude not to, right? The Seafire fondant, which oozes hot chocolate when spooned apart is a winner. When it comes to getting your meat fix in Dubai, there are a ton of options. But for lovingly prepared dishes that deliver fulfilment with every bite, you can’t go wrong with Seafire. Just don’t forget to order the savoury donuts, OK?
The savory short rib donuts. Seriously, we’re still thinking about them now. Every meal pales in comparison without them. Stuffed with superb marinated meat and then topped with a Parmesan cheese that adds a touch of flair, we can safely say they’re our favourite starter to date. When we polished them off, we had to use all of our self control to resist simply ordering another helping for our mains. What a superstar.
