Dubai Restaurants: 7 great restaurants to try in Dubai this week
Dubai is world class when it comes to feasting. It’s incredible array of international cuisines sees foodies flock to it from across the globe to take in
the delights. What Dubai does exceptionally well is comfort food. The burgers, fried chicken, pizzas and curries that help you melt into a tasty food coma are here for you. So whether you’re looking for the very best steaks, next-level bar food or hand-crafted burgers that come with any number of toppings, you’ll find it here. Bon Appetit.
Famous for its towering freakshakes in a rainbow of vibrant (sugary) colours to its juicy burgers, this chain has a huge following – and for good reason. It’s the ultimate stop-off for some comfort food, especially if you’re after something substantial, and both branches at JBR The Walk and Jumeirah Al Naseem offer towering burgers packed with more extras than you can shake a sweet potato fry at. The highlight for us, however, is the crisp, tasty onion rings that transport us to retro American diners in one salty-sweet bite. They’re moreish and delicious.

Teetering on the line between steakhouse and Latin American restaurant, Gaucho is one of the most consistently good venues in Dubai. It’s stylish (with plenty of cowhide), comfortable, and most importantly – the steaks are out of this world. There’s also a load of ceviches, tiraditos and other Latin staples such as empanadas and causas to compliment your steak. It’s excellent and if you don’t leave with a serious case of the meat sweats then you’re doing something wrong.

Seafire has a reputation in our fair city, but notoriety would be nothing without substance, and this restaurant has it in abundance. We love this Atlantis The Palm steakhouse, which has a great vibe and some stunning meat cuts. The restaurant is very proud of its exclusive beef, with both a carpaccio and tartare on the starters menu, each of which work wonderfully as a prelude to the main event. As for sides, you’ll find several original ideas here, of which the cheesy jalapeño fries are the standout.

The Lion by Nick & Scott
Head here for proper British pub grub served up in homely surroundings – with some of the best chips in Dubai hands down. And if you’re in for a penny, you might as well go in for a pound and get the fish as well. The juicy haddock falls apart at the mere prod of an expectant fork and the minted crushed peas and homemade tartare aren’t half bad either. The English-themed watering hole has a genuine vibe and is a belter of a place to head for a pie with your mates and watch the match rather than a big meal out.

English celebrity chef Simon Rimmer is the brains behind the comfort food here. Think stomach-swelling roast dinners, chip butties and more. It also has a great selection of beverages to choose from, and gets lively in the evenings.

You know the drill – it’s Mexican fare such as burritos, tacos and all manner of guacamole varieties. They show a lot of live sports, and they even have a hops pump on some tables so you can pour your own drinks.

Perry & Blackwelder's Original Smokehouse
For some genuine Southern hospitality, look no further than this Souk Madinat gem. Brisket sliders, T-bone steaks and spicy chicken wings are all on an eclectic menu of mouthwatering fare. The smoked turkey with gravy is a favourite of ours.
