The Meat Co

Published

on

Sitting next to Madinat Jumeirah’s calming water canals, and with views of the Burj Al Arab, The Meat Co provides a perfect photo opportunity. If you’re lucky enough to land yourself on a table by the window in the contemporary dining room, you have the best of both worlds; the picture perfect view along with the comfort of air conditioning.

Seafood lovers should try the mezze platter for two to start. This includes king prawns, lobster, lamb cutlets, mushroom vol-au-vent and local burrata cheese all presented superbly. For the main course there is an array of meaty options of different sizes and breeds. You can choose aged beefs from the US, Australia, Japan, and South Africa, that are flame-grilled to your exact specification. Although the menu covers a few chicken, lamb and fish dishes, beef is king here. We would recommend the wagyu rib-eye and the barbeque beef short ribs (both Australian).

Most of the main dishes are extremely filling, but the selection of desserts are difficult to turn down. We recommend the Nutella milk chocolate cheesecake, which is served in a seemingly bottomless jar. The light, mouse texture makes the cheesecake easy to eat and incredibly moreish.

Just like the menu, the service is excellent. The waiting staff are clued-up and full of smiles. If you’re planning a birthday meal out, The Meat Co is a great birthday treat. Staff will join in the celebrations and put on an African bongo drum show which always has the whole restaurant’s full attention.

Three dishes to try:

Wagyu Rib-Eye (Australia)
The rib-eye is flame- grilled to your liking and served with a choice of starch.
Barbeque Beef Short Ribs (Australia)
These ribs are by far the meatiest. Served with a choice of chips, mashed potato or baked potato.

Nutella Milk Chocolate Cheesecake
We don’t say this lightly – the cheesecake is one of the nicest we’ve tried.
