6 epic Dubai breakfasts
Are you a leisurely breakfaster, with time to crack a few eggs and squeeze your own OJ, or are you lucky if you have time for a coffee on the run? The best breakfast is one you don’t have to make yourself, so why not give one of these all-new breakfast menus a try?
The talented bunch of chefs at Cove Beach have come up with an inspired breakfast menu aimed squarely at those who like to treat their body as a temple. Fresh eggs, fruit and grains are the order of the day as you overlook beautiful views across the turquoise waters of the Arabian Gulf. Before breakfast during winter, Cove Beach will be running a sunrise yoga session to let you work up a proper appetite before a healthy refuelling.

Thinking outside the breakfast box
Fraiche Café & Bistro
Aiming to offer “a democratic fine-dining experience”, which we tried to explain in Issue 3, there’s no denying Fraiche’s experimental approach to breakfast yields great rewards. Maryland Eggs Benedict, which comes atop a crab cake, is worth treating your tastebuds to, as is “Breakfast Surprise,” which consists of poached eggs with pastrami on hot French toast, topped with a zingy basil and lime hollandaise. The menu may be avant-garde, but the down-to-earth setting is laid back and casual.

Who says you need to reserve breakfast dishes for the morning? This Japanese-style eatery-cum-bakery offers a late Far-Eastern breakfast comprised of miso soup, rice, grilled fish, Japanese omelette and pickles, as well as a bewildering range of teas. For the more traditional among us, the menu also contains waffles, crepes with Nutella and bananas, or savoury options like omelettes with beef bacon and buttered Shokupan toast. And they’ve just opened in Dubai, too. Everyone is a winner.

A Great British Breakfast
Dhow & Anchor
This British gastropub has a long-established reputation as one of Dubai’s most well-known watering holes, only missing one thing – a proper full English breakfast. Chef de Cuisine Chris Driver has just put that right with a brand new Friday and Saturday breakfast menu that includes everything that you would expect from a fry up with extra soakage after a long night out. The ideal remedy, as any young Brit will tell you.
