5 restaurants for seafood lovers in Dubai

Dubai’s seafood lovers are spoilt for choice. But whether you’re looking for a generous helping of fish and chips or a beautifully arranged plate of tuna tartare, there are a few restaurants that hit the right spot every time. Here’s our ShortList of five must-trys.

The Italian fine-dining spot has launched its new á la carte menu, inspired by authentic Venetian cuisine – an appropriate choice given the Venice-esque waterways that intersect Madinat Jumeirah’s various properties. The new dishes will include an extensive range of antipasti, fresh seafood and meat – all redolent of the best gastronomy Northern Italy has to offer.

Given its location, there really aren’t as many waterfront seafood dining spots along the fronds of Dubai’s Palm as you’d expect. Fortunately, the people behind Senara have jumped in on this prime restaurant-real estate, opening a delightful seafood bistro championing a host of fresh, unpretentious fish dishes to compliment the beautifully unobscured waterside views. Well played.

The Maine Oyster Bar and Grill
It’s only been open for a short time, but already The Maine Oyster Bar & Grill has managed to create a buzz. Their ladies night operates under the maxim “the only rule is… there are no rules”, which gets our attention, and fortunately they seem to mean it. No limitations, no restrictions, no vouchers… just the promise of unlimited drinks concocted by the expert-in-house mixologists – every Wednesday, from 8pm-12am. The food’s good too.

Novikov Restaurant & Bar
One of Russia’s most powerful entrepreneurs made Novikov a swanky celeb hangout in Moscow and London. He set his sights on Dubai last year, and has seen the brand’s first restaurant in the Middle East gain widespread popularity. The stylish oriental food blends modern dishes from Japan, China and South East Asia. It’s a real must-try for Dubai foodies.

Catch is very American, in the best possible way. The first of these trendy restaurants opened in New York’s fashion forward Meatpacking District, where the young and the stylish hang out. Catch Dubai, in Fairmont Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road, brings buckets of NYC personality to the desert. Expect food that looks as good as it tastes.
