Dubai’s Rivington Grill to shut down

Published

Just a year after closing its Madinat Jumairah restaurant, the award-winning Rivington Grill Souk Al Bahar has announced that it is shutting down.

Affectionately named “The Rivi”, it’s become one of Dubai’s best-loved restaurants for high-end British food. Owners have said that this will be their last few months before closing permanently this summer on June 5.

The press release on the closure doesn’t give away much in the way of information on why the restaurant is being shut down, simply saying that they have come to the end of their lease. “The Rivi” has established a well-deserved reputation for celebrating the rich diversity of British cooking and we are proud to have run this hugely popular restaurant for the past 8 years,” says Russell Scott, Managing Director at Jumeirah Restaurant Group Dubai.

“I would like to personally thank all of our loyal customers over these last years and I would urge them, as well as the people who have not yet tried us, to get along as soon as they can to try those favourites or experience the great roast.  The Rivi team will look forward to looking after you. ”

We know that loyal Rivington Grill fans will be disappointed to hear that the ‘cool Britannia’ restaurant is soon-to-be no more, but the next few months promise to be packed. Apparently further details are on their way with offers, closing parties and daily specials, reflecting some of the best-sellers from over the years.
