4 Dubai restaurants to try this weekend

Sunsets at Play
It already offers some of the best views in town, so the introduction of Sunsets at Play – a new early evening happy hour – makes plenty of sense. Between 5pm-8pm, Play is offering a creative beverage menu that changes daily. Considering its location, we’re sure this will become a favoured spot for post-work relaxation for office types on either side of Sheikh Zayed Road.

Lamb season at Long’s Bar
Be a “lambassador” at Long’s Bar for the next few weeks. From now until September 14, diners can sample the best of Australia’s lamb; their Saltbush-fed lamb is rich in protein and antioxidants and produces succulent and tender meat with a delicate flavour. It also comes served in a variety of different ways – the one pictured is the roasted lamb saddle – to ensure you get your favourite cut. Choose a Saturday, pull up chair in front of one of the 20 screens and dig in.

Breakfast at Farzi Cafe
They like to do things a little differently at Farzi Café, the modern spice bistro by Zorawar Kalra. The new breakfast menu is an example. Where else would you find a tenderloin maska hotdog, for instance? Their version comes with beef juliennes served in a maska hotdog topped with cheddar cheese, served with potato twirls. Odd but great.

Not that we need much of an excuse to swing by Izakaya in the JW Marriott Marquis for their Hoba Yaki Black Cod, but the hotel has provided one anyway:  “Passport to the Marquis”. Dine in the contemporary Japanese restaurant, or any of the property’s eight participating restaurants, and you can earn instant prizes and points based on your order. All diners who reach 1,000 points will then be entered into a prize draw for a five-star trip to New York City. Sound good? You’d best order the Beef Tobanyaki, for your companion, then.
