“This is Dubai, which can only compete with itself”.His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai took to Twitter to announce that the Muraqqabat Police Station in Dubai is the first service center in the emirate in Dubai to receive a 6-star rating as part of the UAE Global Star Rating System.
The Al Muraqqabat Police Station is an AI-powered service center, part of several similar police stations across Dubai. Sheikh Mohammed, in his tweet, also recognized the achievements that gave the Muraqqabat Police Station this unique feat, such as its 99.8 public satisfaction, one and half minute emergency response time, and that the station has completed over 100,000 transactions so far.

Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, conveyed his sincere gratitude to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and also thanked his ever-continuing support which enables Dubai Police to showcase and prolong its best performance at all times.
He also mentioned that Dubai Police is always seeking ways to implement advanced and innovative solutions to help Dubai stay on top among the world’s most desired destinations.
Al Muraqqabat Police Station was the first of its kind in Dubai to be transformed into a smart police station utilizing AI-powered services and was inaugurated by Sheikh Mohammed back in November 2019.
Brigadier Ali Ahmed Abdullah Ghanem, Director at Al Muraqqabat Police Station, said that all of the police stations will be transformed into smart police stations capable of providing services to the residents and citizens 24/7/365 without requiring any input from human service agents.
There are currently 27 services in 7 different languages offered at the Muraqqabat Police Station, and has increased the security coverage of the Al Muraqqabat area to 100 percent, thanks to the one and half minute emergency response time clocked by the station.
The implementation of AI-powered smart services in Dubai police stations is the first-of-its-kind approach in the Middle East. AI-powered services offered at such police stations include home security, bounced cheque reporting, criminal complaint reporting, labor complaint, victim support, human trafficking complaint, traffic accident reissue, vehicle color change request, traffic status certificates, traffic fine payment, good conduct certificate, lost item certificate, clearance certificate, night work permit, road closure permit, corpse entry permit, events security, lost items search, tourist security, etc.
The Al Muraqqabat Police Station is not only a prime example of Dubai’s and the UAE’s take on implementing new and advanced technologies for a better standard of living but is also something that the entire world looks up to.

So far, more than 100 delegations from all around the world have come to the Al Muraqqabat Police Station to learn about the technologies and experiences implemented in the station.
The 6-star rating was awarded by Sheikh Mohammed in a special ceremony at the Zabeel Palace. The ceremony was also attended by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Mansoor bin Homanned bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Media Council, and Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline.
The Global Star Rating System was launched by the UAE government back in 2012 with an aim to improve the efficiency of government services in the country as per international standards and provide a publicly announced rating for the government service agencies based on their performance under various criteria.
UAE’s government service agencies receive ratings on a scale from 2 to 7 stars, with the Muraqqabat Police Station receiving the highest rating yet of 6 stars. The evaluation of service centers happens once every 2 years.
