UAE Online Shopping Platform Of $1 billion Is It Truth

Some large international stores often have long delivery times to Dubai, so we’re constantly looking for the next local e-commerce store, even if it’s a small boutique. If you’re an avid spender, news that an online shopping platform costing $1 billion is coming to the UAE and Saudi Arabia is extremely exciting.

The new venture, called noon.com, was announced by Dubai-based businessman Mohamed Alabbar. The site will launch in January 2017 with distribution centers in Jeddah, and Riyadh and a 3.5 million sqft warehouse in Dubai (that’s the size of 60 football stadiums!).

“We are turning the e-commerce environment in the region upside down,” said Alabbar, describing the site as “nothing less than a quantum leap in retail in the region, and the world.”

It will go live with an inventory of 20 million products, including fashion, home, electronics, health and beauty, garden, and personal care. Noon is looking to build itself in the Middle East before expanding worldwide.

The best part is that Noon will offer same-day delivery through an in-house express delivery service. You’ll also be able to shop via the app and pay with their secure payment gateway, NoonPay.

This will be the biggest online shopping platform in the region, and developers are utilizing state-of-the-art technology to ensure that it’s a market leader.

Fodhil Benturquia, CEO of Noon, said: “We want to be the partner of choice for sellers, whether they’re big or small. We invite them to be part of our ecosystem, working together to change the online shopping landscape for the Middle East customer.”
