Persol as a brand is celebrated for their waspy styles and classic Italian craftsmanship. Now they have reinvented their iconic 649 frame with the emphasis this time on refined tones of metal, precious acetate temple tips and crystal lenses.
The 649 was introduced in 1957 and designed specifically for Italian tram drivers who needed large lenses to block out dust and soot. They were later adopted by Steve McQueen and are now worn by the likes of Ryan Gosling and Zac Efron.
The new version – which is ultra-slim and lightweight – only proves that the 649 remains a cult classic; an accessory that boasts Made in Italy sophistication and stands out for its use of premium materials. The Victor bridge, the Meflecto and the Arrow hinge all remain as iconic features.
Persol is available across the UAE.
