Dubai Story Behind Aishwarya Rai’s Cannes Dress

Dubai-based Filipino designer Michael Cinco is the talk of the Cannes Film Festival. The 45-year-old, who is known for his feminine silhouettes, was the designer of choice for Bollywood superstar Aishwarya Rai, and the Cinderella-like gown is causing a stir on social media.

Rai wore the icy blue ball gown to the Okja premiere at the 70th Cannes International Film Festival in Cannes, in the south of France, on Friday, May 19. The flattering Bardot neckline and full skirt had serious Disney princess vibes.

Michael Cinco was clearly proud of his creation, posting numerous pictures on his Instagram to show off the dress from different angles. He captioned the first picture: “The stunning AISHWARYA RAI is ready to slay the red carpet at the opening of CANNES Film Festival…wearing a fabulous couture ball gown from my Impalpable Dream of VERSAILLES Collection.”

In another caption, he said: “Voted as one of the most beautiful women in the world, the stunning AISHWARYA RAI channeled her inner Cinderella moment in a couture Michael Cinco fully embroidered ball gown from my Impalpable Dream of VERSAILLES Collection.”
