She rocks some of the most enviable threads in town, with a seemingly bottomless wardrobe. IT girl and Dubai resident, Chloe Allan, started her blog The Girl that Lives in the Desert four years ago. Since then she’s gained a huge following, and an even bigger shoe collection…

How long have you been in Dubai… and how would you sum up your time here?
I’ve been in Dubai for 11 years this August. It’s been a life-changing adventure full of challenges, hard work, excitement, heartbreak and heat. Most of all it has opened my eyes to things I never thought imaginable.

What’s your favourite restaurant… and favourite dish?
I love La Petite Maison and I can't go without ordering the Sea Bass!

Which takeaway do you have on speed dial?
Any kind of Thai food. It’s my go-to weekend treat.

Thursday night means…
Getting dressed up, girl time and cocktails in the city.

Friday afternoon means…
I'm sure you can imagine after Thursday night!

Guests have flown in to see you for a weekend and they’ve never been here before. What three things do you do?
A desert safari is cliché but oh so fun. I’d also take them to a brunch because no one does it like Dubai, and of course the Burj Khalifa fountains – to this day they still give me Goosebumps!

Where do you go to get a taste of home?
Some good old English food at The Rivington Grill or The Ivy.

What one thing could they introduce to Dubai that would immeasurably improve the quality of your life?
Honestly I wouldn't want to change anything as I feel people move here (myself included) to better their life in some way and so far I can't complain.

If you had to spend AED100,000 in a single Dubai shop, which one would you choose and what would you buy?
Being in Fashion, I’d have to go somewhere like Chanel or Isabel Marant. I'd buy everything in sight.

What do you do in Dubai that you never do anywhere else in the world?
I wake up to blue skies and sunshine almost every day and there's nothing better than that.
