So, what’s new? The 2019 model is lighter than ever and runs like a mobile office, with impressive smartphone connectivity.

So I can play music on my phone in the car? Is that your major concern for an office? Well, yes, there’s a lot you can do with the 8” touchscreen and Apple CarPlay, such as use certain mobile apps (now including WhatsApp), check the car’s climate control, see via the rear-vision camera – it’s fully kitted out with the latest technology.

What’s it actually like to drive? Well it’s lighter than before thanks to the finely tuned chassis system, and it’s rear-wheel drive too so you get more control on the road. There’s a feature on the Premium Performance model (the ATS Coupe lso has a Premium Luxury model) called Magnetic Ride Control giving you a luxury ride with the responsiveness and agility of a sports car.

Do you mean it’s like a luxury sports car? Sort of.

Great, I’ll trade the Porsche in. Hang about. We’re not talking that sporty. The interior is more like a premium motor – the leather seats are extremely comfortable. They’ve been hand-sown, have lumbar support, are heated and can be moved in eight directions, unlike traditional, firmer sports car seats. Also inside is the upgraded Bose Premium Surround System.

I’ve got a family to think about is this the right car for me? In terms of comfort it’s hard to beat, but te trunk’s a bit poky and backseat legroom is limited. If you’ve got little ones you’ll be fine, older kids might get a bit restless on long journeys.

Okay, how many dizzers? The 2019 Cadillac ATS starts at around AED143,000.
