Borderlands 3’s high-level gameplay reveal is crazy good
Whatever your thoughts are with E3 this year, you can’t deny the amount of games that were shown off. With so much going on, you may have missed Borderlands 3’s in-depth gameplay reveal. Shame if you did, as it's pretty crazy.
The E3 footage showed off one of the four playable vault hunters, Moze, and her Iron Bear mech take on a host of high-level enemies in the swamps of Eden-6 (a new planet that isn’t Pandora to explore).
Check it out below:
Clearly, developer Gearbox have upped the ante with its new entry, making it even more action-orientated, harder, and have a few more character specs and gun modifications to deal with.
It also shows off more of its bazillions of guns and gadgets. Yup, a bazillion. Gamers can expect firearms with self-propelling bullet shields, rifles that spawn fire-spewing volcanoes and guns that grow legs and chase down enemies while hurling verbal insults. We’re intrigued.
Check out the official E3 trailer below:
It’s been five years since the Gearbox’s last official game with Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel (what a name, eh?), and this time there’s no big baddie Handsome Jack in sight…for now.
The villains this time round are the Calypso Twins, who are all about social media and have “ten billion followers” apparently. Good luck taking them down.
As for the four vault hunters, we know there’s Moze the Gunner, whose main ability is summoning her huge mech, Iron Bear, along with Amara the Siren, who can call on ethereal arms to get up-close and personal.
There’s also the mysterious robot FL4K the Beastmaster, who can command pet beasts, which could be new creatures or some of the usual enemies of the franchise, and then there’s Zane the Operative – the assassin class of the bunch who can distract enemies (and probably more) with his decoy.
Borderlands 3 comes out on September 13 this year, and you can pre-order it right now on www.borderlands.com.
