Gucci introduces virtual try-on app
Iconic fashion brand Gucci has teamed up with Belarus tech start-up Wannaby to create an app that allows you to virtually ‘try on’ shoes.
Tired of department stores and changing rooms? Sample Gucci’s new Ace trainer collection simply by pointing your phone at your feet. Currently only available on iOS, the app utilises augmented reality (or ‘AR’) technology that imposes a virtual image of the shoes onto your feet and simultaneously tracks your movements, making it seem as if you’re walking around in brand new Gucci kicks.
You can even capture photos within the app and share them on social media. What more is there to ask from this luxury Italian brand and its tech partner?
Virtual shopping makes it easier than ever to try out the hottest new products without leaving your home.
Conveniently, the app even allows you to purchase the trainers you try on with the click of a button, taking you directly to the Gucci site and adding them to your shopping cart. Is this the future? Well, if the shoe fits.
