New Death Stranding trailer shows character who dies every 21 minutes
If you’re a fan of anything Hideo Kojima has created (basically, every Metal Gear Solid), then you’ll know just how strange his characters are. Not just in personality (Psycho Mantis, anyone?), but in terms of the quirks they live with every day.
Played by Nicolas Winding Refn, Heartman technically dies every 21 minutes to visit the “other side”, and he’s already done it 218,550 times.
We’ll let the trailer do most of the explaining:
We’re not quite sure why this happens to him, but he seems to be living his short-spanned life with relative ease, even waking up to have a natural first-time conversation with Norman Reedus’ character, Sam.
There are quite a few notable stars in Death Stranding, including Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen as what looks like the main bad guy named Cliff, Troy Baker as Higgs and even special guest Guillermo del Toro as, erm, Deadman.
Death Stranding finally has a release date thanks to its eight-minute trailer, so expect to figure out what on earth is happening in everything we’ve seen so far (or get even more confused) on November 8, 2019.
While we wait, check out what we’re watching and playing this week right here.
