Second look: Crocs
It's probably fair to say that Crocs won't ever be considered high fashion. The chunky clogs, characterised by their big bold colours and bulbous form, might have become the ultimate all-purpose family footwear, but they won't pretend to be catwalk material. But then, that was never their goal. It's like judging the maker of amazing ice cream for not having a mille-feuille in their repertoire.
What Crocs do, though, is put plenty fun in function. And their latest collection sees them branch out into more general lifestyle footwear. So, turn down the cynicism and look at their latest range. You might be surprised.
1. Crocs Norlin Slip-on
Who wouldn't wear these? These are laid-back slip-on with a canvas uppers and microfiber lining to the footbed to avoid any sockless discomfort in 40-plus heat. They work with jeans and shorts and, frankly, look great.
The iconic clog has been given a makeover with a two-tone colour scheme that takes its design cues from classic sneakers. They're still clogs but they offer something a little more contemporary looks-wise.
