Sale season arrives in Dubai with DSS

Shopaholics prepare yourselves, sale season is here. Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) is back for its 20th edition, which means that the malls are packed with sales and competitions. You’ll find plenty of “Spend & Win” promotions – the weekly draw at Dragon Mart 2 gives you the chance to win AED10,000 in vouchers!

But even if you’re just adding to your wardrobe, there are over 6,000 stores across shopping destinations like The Dubai Mall, MoE and Box Park are taking part with discounts of up to 75 percent. Here is where we will be heading.

Boutique 1
Sarah Garden, Digital Editor
Boutique 1 is the reason my credit card looks so worn out. As well as having the latest ‘IT’ pieces from planet fashion, it stocks some of my favourite local designers including Kage (my go-to label for brunch dresses). The jewellery selection is huge and, although it is name-brand, there’s something to suit most budgets – especially during DSS. Besides, it’s worth splashing out for something special.

Neal’s Yard Remedies
Michelle Clements, Art Director
Any fellow fans of Neal’s Yard will be just as excited as me to find out they are taking part in DSS. Their organic natural health and beauty products always get a good response as presents so I’ll be buying a candle or a room difuser for my mum and sister. I’m in love with their essential oils and their skincare products, especially the orange flower range so there’s a facial oil and cleanser on my list too.

Adventure HQ
Judy Cogan, Deputy Editor
I’ll start with a confession. The idea of Adventure HQ intrigues me, but having only stepped foot inside the store twice (the first time barely a 30 second lap) I can’t call it my favourite shop. But I am on a mission to be more healthy and get fitter and so these discounts will help me stock up on the kit I need to embrace all things active. And probably look a bit ‘all the gear and no idea’ in the process.

DSS is on until August 20
