Real Madrid football star Karim Benzema is the latest football star to visit Dubai this Ramadan.

But while other stars tend to flock to Dubai’s many beaches, tourist attractions and malls, the French footballer had other ideas of what he wanted to do during his stay.

There was an online frenzy after videos of the 29-year-old hitching a ride in one of Dubai Police’s fancy police cars were released yesterday.

Dubai Police’s superfast and super expensive McLaren 570S were his wheels of choice. The sports car was introduced into the city’s police fleet late last year and cost an impressive AED462,000.

Benzema shared a number pictures of his stay in Dubai with his 19 million followers on Instagram. Amongst those shared was a shot of him posing in front of a Bugatti which he captioned, “Enjoy life”.

Benzema’s trip comes just two weeks after Manchester United’s Luke Shaw and Adnan Januzaj, and Stoke midfielder Bojan Krkic, visited the region.

During their stay the trio visited a number of the city’s iconic landmarks such as the Burj Khalifa.

Krkic shared a snap of himself posing at the foot of the Burj Khalifa on Instagram with the caption, “Burj Khalifa: 148 floors, 829 metres... an amazing human achievement.”

Januzaj uploaded a picture of himself bottle feeding a lion (presumably in Dubai), and another of himself standing on the back of a quad bike saying, “Somewhere in the desert.”

The trio also embraced the UAE’s customs by wearing kanduras. An image of the trio was posted on Instagram by Ahmed El Saraf along with the caption, “Having sohoor with the boys #ramadan2017 #ramadannights #mydubai.”
