Looking to channel your inner Usain Bolt or perhaps just give running a try? Great news, Dubai has plenty of running tracks to help you do just that. So, while the weather remains as lovely as it is now, ditch the treadmill and the excuses, grab your running shoes and RUN, FOREST RUN!

*clears throat*, to help you RUN, we've shortlisted what we think are seven of the best outdoor running tracks in Dubai.

1. District One Cycling and Running Track
With a cycle and running track built side-by-side, you’ll almost always find someone at this 8.4km course in Nad Al Sheba. The tree-lined path is lit by solar powered lights and offers different views at intervals, with the most stunning one being the skyline. There are benches every few hundred metres should your tired feet need a break.

2. Dubai Canal
If you need inspiration to start…you might find it here. The 3.2km-long route along the banks of the canal offers views of Al Habtoor City, the waterfall under Sheikh Zayed Road and even Safa Park. With developments underway, it’s only going to get better.

3. Al Mankhool Park
This park in the heart of Al Mankhool may span across just 400 metres but, it works for those starting out and for those living in Burjman. Along with free parking, the park offers badminton and volleyball courts. With play areas around the track, you and your little ones can easily make a day out of it.

4. Bay Park
A park mostly frequented by residents of Executive Towers, it is not uncommon to spot other Business Bay residents coming here for their evening walks and runs. For most of it, the 1km-long track runs through a lush green garden but you do get the odd unobstructed view of Burj Khalifa every now and then.

5. Zabeel Park
Home to the city’s latest attraction Dubai Frame, this urban public park boasts a 4.3km track on its perimeter. Expect beautiful views of the frame itself, the skyline and installations displayed at Dubai Garden Glow through your route. While use of the track is free and can be accessed 24x7, entry to the park costs AED5.

6. The Boardwalk
You’re more likely to find people strolling than running on this 11km walkway on The Palm, but that shouldn’t discourage you from checking it out (with your running shoes, obvs). Stretching across the outer frond of the island, it offers views of hotels like Atlantis, Rixos and the One&Only. Should the route be too long, you can stop to refuel at one of the food trucks.

7. Kite Beach
Popular with kite surfers, paddle boarders and swimmers, this beach works well for those looking for a leisurely run. A boardwalk features alongside the running track which gives beginners the opportunity to alternate should exhaustion kick in. With the sound of the waves crashing against the shores and a sky full of kites on most days, this spot should put some joy to your daily run.
