Sports news to natter about: Clement Berardo
Torres calls time
Spanish striker Fernando Torres has announced his retirement following a wonderful career in the game, during which time he won both the World Cup and European Championships with Spain, as well as the Champions League at Chelsea. Having started out at his boyhood club Atletico Madrid, Torres enjoyed the best spell of his career at Liverpool. Currently playing in Japan for Sagan Tosu, he will play his final game on August 23 against Vissel Kobe. Probably the right time to go.
If reports are to be believed, we could soon be watching an unbelievable UFC Hollywood showdown between those two sporting icons...Justin Bieber and Tom Cruise. Yes, that’s right. The worlds of singing and acting are set to collide in the Octagon if the two men get their way in what will surely be the most bizarre sporting contest of all-time. Is it too late now...to back out?
Tears for cheers
Jose Mourinho, it seems, has a softer side after he revealed he shed tears when Andy Murray won Wimbledon for the first time in 2013. The Portuguese spent time with the tennis star at Queen’s recently and spoke of his admiration for the Scot following his troubles with injury. Who’d have thought it?
New balls please
Golfer Clement Berardo was disqualified from a recent competition after he ran out of balls during a round that saw him 10 over par after 15 holes. A bad day at the office for the Frenchman.
