Dubai World Cup: RTA Warns Of Traffic Delay On Major Roads

Dubai World Cup, one of the most prestigious horse racing events in the world, is scheduled for this weekend at the Meydan racecourse. The city is gearing up to host thousands and thousands of visitors from all around the world. The Dubai World Cup is an annual event held at the Meydan Racecourse in Dubai.

Events will begin at 3.30 pm, and the horse race is set for 8.35 pm.

Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) warned that a heavy delay in traffic can be expected on the roads on Saturday, March 25, 2023, due to Dubai’s World Cup. The inrush of visitors and traffic delays are expected so the RTA and organizers are advising visitors to plan their transportation accordingly.

RTA’s methods for Controlling Traffic Over roads

Visitors are advised to expect massive traffic delays, particularly during the world cup 2023’s peak hours. So the organizers and The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) have advised visitors to plan their travel in advance to allow sufficient time for their journey to the event spot.

Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) tweeted yesterday, “ please depart early and use alternative roads to reach your destinations.”
RTA also tweets to the awareness of the visitors who attended the World-class event, that there is a 100 percentage of massive traffic delay can expect in three major roads including, including AL Meydan St, Al Khali Road, Al Ain Road

Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that there will be widespread transportation plans in place to accommodate the huge number of visitors that are expected to attend the event.

Organizers provided huge car parking facilities, and around 6,000 cars can park for the spectators at the Meydan Racecourse.

RTA has advised the visitors who are attending the World Cup to use the metro to reach the Meydan Racecourse as it is the most convenient mode of transportation.

The mass use of Public transportation can help to avoid traffic congestion so the organizers have also arranged buses to transport.

The buses will operate from various locations across the city; they may be available for the convenience of the visitors.

Taxi services are available at the locations, Around 4,500 taxis would assist the spectators on Saturday. The organizers have warned that taxi services may face delays due to the high demands during the mass event, so the Roads and Transport Authority has advised the visitors to book a Taxi in advance to avoid expecting inconveniences.

There will be temporary road closures and diversions in place around the Meydan Racecourse during the event, The RTA also announced. The closures and diversions are necessary to ensure safety and facilitate the smooth flow of traffic around the event venue.

RTA guided the spectators to use alternative routes to reach their event destination And requested to follow the instructions of the traffic police on duty.

The traffic police will be assigned duties at the various locations around the Meydan Racecourse to manage the traffic flow to ensure and secure the visitors’ purposes.

Organizers arranged a range of activities and entertainment options for the visitors, in addition to transportation arrangements.
