What Are The Trending UAE Searches On Google In 2022

According to Google’s Year in Search 2022, the most searched words in the UAE were FIFA world cup 2022, Expo 2022, Wordle, Ministry of Community development, etc. The FIFA world cup 2022 has been organized in Doha, Qatar from November 20 to December 18.

This is a global event and a major number of people who plan to visit Qatar will also come to Dubai to spend some quality time. They both share a common border and a road trip from Qatar to Dubai takes only around seven hours.

The more liberal nature of UAE is also another reason for people to spend time in UAE nations as part of their middle-east visit. 

In 2022, the top Google searches in the UAE are FIFA World Cup, Wordle, and Expo 2020

The Dubai Expo 2020 was another event that took place from October 2021 to March 2022. It was originally planned to be conducted in 2020 but because of the Covid-19 pandemic, it got postponed to 2021. The expo was a global success as people from different parts of the world visited the event. The UAE has been constantly in the limelight by organizing different kinds of events of worldwide stature.

This year’s theme for the expo was ‘Connecting minds, creating the future and it focused on unlocking the potential of individuals as well as communities to explore and understand new horizons of sustainability-based economic development.

The Gitex Global Tech show was also organized this year which also pulled in a lot of crowd from the International community.  

There has been a drastic increase in the number of tourists to UAE after the Covid-19 pandemic and this has also created a huge buzz about the emirate nation on the Internet. The UAE has surpassed major European destinations to become one of the most visited places in 2022.

Towards the end of this year, Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) will be starting from December 15 to January 29. It is also considered to be a big event where the world comes to shop. A lot of people are waiting for this experience and they would start researching online about the festival months before it starts. 

Wordle is another keyword search that was trending in the UAE in 2022. It is an online word game that gives you a daily challenge to complete a five-letter word.  The square boxes will change colors to let us know if we are on the right track too.

It need not be downloaded as an app as it is available online to play. The game was created by Josh Wardle, a software engineer based in Brooklyn. He made it as a gift for his partner who loved word games and the name of the game was a wordplay on his last name “Wardle”. 

The ministry of community development was another most searched keyword in UAE. The ministry under the guidance of Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid signed an  MoU with Al Futtaim Group to improve the living conditions of productive Emirati families.

Under this program, the Ministry would support Emirati families to start their own entrepreneurial ventures by providing the necessary support. The initiative received a lot of praise from the Emirati community as this would be a good opportunity to develop their business and individual skills. 

Other than these terms, some other popularly searched personalities were Queen Elizabeth II, Sheikh Khalifa, Shane Warne, Amber Heard, etc. The top 3 TV shows that figured in the list were El Ekhtyar Part 3, Al Haram street, and Tobah. Every year Google releases a list of terms that were the most widely searched in their search engine to understand what all topics were trending in different countries and regions.
