Dubai is now home to a total of 14 Michelin-starred restaurants. This is the second edition of Michelin Guide Dubai. The event was unveiled at an extravagant event at Atlantis, the Royal, where three restaurants were honored with 2 stars and 11 of them got 1 star.
All restaurants earned 1-star in 2022, retained their Spots
Two of the last year’s two-starred restaurants maintained their positions. Tresind Studio was awarded one -star last year, but this time they boosted their position to 2 starred categories.
Three newcomer dining spots were added to the list of one-starred restaurants. All the restaurants that earned 1-star last year, retained their names in this year’s list too.Â

Chef Solemann Haddad of Moon Rise was titled with the young chef award last year, but this year the restaurant is topping its performance and gaining a place among the one-star hotels.
Out of the 44 hotels that were selected for last year’s Michelin list, 38 hotels successfully retained their position in the list. An additional 21 dining spots were added to this list to make the overall number of selected restaurants 59.
The service award is a prestigious accolade designated for flawless and warm service. This time La Mar by Gaston Acurio’s General Manager, Tomislav Lokvicic was honored with the service award. LaMar is a Peruvian-themed dining spot famous for its warm service along with delicious food.
The Sommelier Award is an accolade given to commemorate individuals for sharing knowledge and enhancing the dining experience. Arturo Scarmedella won this title this year. He is from Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, opulent dining inspired by the British culinary aesthetic.
The young chef award of 2023 was given to Omkar Walve from Avatar, a vegetarian restaurant that embodies soulful Indian cuisine. This accolade is handed over to upcoming chefs who are expected to be the ambassadors of the next generation. The officials appreciated the young chefs, eye for detail, and flavor-packed dishes.
‘New Opening of the Year’ is an accolade given to first-timers of the edition. Ariana Bundy from Arianan’s Persian Kitchen was honored with this title.

The Michelin Green Star award, introduced in 2020, recognizes and appreciates chefs who are deeply devoted to sustainability and put efforts to sensitize customers to this topic.
Two restaurants received this special distinction. Boca, a dining with Mediterranean cuisine, which proactively includes local produce and is conscious about waste management, and Teible a cool eatery where that encourages a sustainable approach with seasonality and integrity.
