Stylish, Affordable Hotel Brand To Open In Dubai In 2020: All You Need To Know

Dubai isn’t short of five-star hotels, but what about if you’re looking for something a little more budget-friendly? The good news is that this area of the hospitality market is growing in the UAE. Adding to the mix, AccorHotels just announced that the first Mama Shelter boutique in Dubai will open in 2020.

The hotel will have 201 rooms and 80 residences, with elements designed by acclaimed interior designer Thierry Gaugain. There will also be an all-day dining restaurant, rooftop bar, volleyball court, basketball court, and swimming pool.

Franklin Azzi Architecture is behind the design of the new hotel, which will be Mama Shelter’s eight locations. Mirroring their existing hotels, you can expect a simple, slick design that is based on entertainment.

AccorHotel’s Middle East and Africa CEO Olivier Granet told Arabian Business that the hotel will fill a gap in the Dubai market for an affordable hotel that offers high quality. The brand already has hotels in Los Angeles, Lyon, Bordeaux, Marseilles, Prague, Istanbul, and Rio de Janeiro, that target young, trendy travelers with in-room iMacs with free movies on-demand. There’s also free Wi-Fi, and the option to upgrade to late checkout – they clearly know what millennials want.

“We knew Dubai was the perfect destination for our eighth Mama Shelter property because the city embodies the MAMA spirit with its bustling excitement and international appeal,” said Mama Shelter Founder Serge Trigano.

“Mama Shelter Dubai will not just be a place for business meetings and flythroughs, but a place to live, work, laugh, debate, celebrate, and at the end of the night, come home to MAMA.”

The brand describes its hotels as “more than simply rooms or restaurants,” saying that they offer “a living and meeting space, a true urban refuge”
