Etihad Airways pulls all flights to Qatar until further notice
Following the UAE’s decision to cut diplomatic ties with Qatar, Etihad Airways has just announced that it will suspended all flights to Qatar from tomorrow morning onwards.
The decision comes just hours after the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt announced that they will be cutting all diplomatic relations, as well as land, sea, and air contacts with Qatar as a result of the nation’s “flagrant violation” of international law.
In a statement given to Arabian Business, a spokesperson for Etihad Airways said it would suspend its flights to and from Doha from Tuesday, June 6 “until further notice”.
According to the spokesperson, the last flight from Abu Dhabi to Doha will depart at 02:45am (local time) on June 6, and the last flight from Doha to Abu Dhabi will depart at 04:00am (local time) on June 6.
All Etihad flights today (June 5) will operate as normal, the spokesperson added.
“All customers who are booked on Etihad Airways flights to and from Doha are being provided with alternative options, including full refunds on unused tickets and free rebooking to the nearest alternate Etihad Airways destinations,” the spokesperson said.
Emirates, who operates nine daily direct flights to Doha, has not commented yet.
