Dubai Metro’s extended operating hours start to today

Great news for Dubai Metro and Tram users, the extended Dubai Metro hours start today!

This means that the Dubai Metro Red Line will now start at 5am instead of 5.30am, while the Green Line will operate from 5.30am instead of 5.50am.

The Dubai Tram will be up and running 30 minutes earlier too, which means that it will start from 6am as opposed to 6.30am.

As a result of the change, the new revised metro and tram schedule will be as follows…

From Saturday to Wednesday, the Dubai Metro Red Line will run from 5am to 12am while the Green Line will run from 5.30am to 12am.

The Tram will run from 6am to 1am the following day.

On Thursdays, the Dubai Metro Red Line will run from 5am to 1am, while the Green Line will start from 5.30am and will run until 1am the following day.
The Tram service will run from 6am to 1am the following day.

On Fridays, the Red and Green Metro Lines will run from 10am to 1am while the tram will start its service at 9am and run until 1am.

The express metro service has also started deploying more trains to help ease the flow of morning rush hour traffic.

“The Express Metro service has been improved by deploying trains in six stations, namely Rashidiya, Rigga, Emirates Towers, First Gulf Bank, Jumeirah Lakes Towers and the UAE Money Exchange.

“The selected stations are the most used metro stations by passengers to get to their workplaces early. This would ease congestion at the first metro service at all stations,” the Director of RTA’s Rail Agency, Mohammed Yousef Al Mudharreb explains.

He added that the improvements are an attempt to “cater to the needs of riders and bring them happiness so that they reach their destinations faster.”
