Most of the time when you’re booking an Airbnb, you’re looking for somewhere nice and cheap, somewhere more homely and distinctive compared to the cut and paste feel of modern hotels – or a combination of both.

But, while it’s often tempting to be prosaic, it’s easy to forget that there are some seriously high end properties available to rent – so why don’t you dare to dream?

To give you an idea of what’s out there, we’ve scanned through Airbnb’s Instagram account to find the eight most-liked images of Airbnb properties: go on, treat yourself and make plans to visit one of these. You’re worth it guys, trust us.
