Watching the fireworks at JBR is quite normal for most people during Eid. But an adrenaline-seeking photographer and two friends decided to get a better view, from 425 metres up. The trio scaled Marina 101, which is set to become the world’s tallest residential building on completion, without harnesses.

The recently released video shows 26-year-old Malaysian-born Keow Wee Loong and his friends dangling from the side of the building. This isn’t the first video to hit YouTube lately. James Kingston, a British Parkour enthusiast, recently climbed a crane on the other side of Dubai Marina and posted the video. More recently a Russian stuntman did a backflip on a Dubai building.

The stomach-churning videos are part of a dangerous trend among thrill-seekers. Is it an extreme sport, or are these free-climbers taking it way too far?
