The long weekend is officially over and that means that it’s time to get back into the swing of things. We’ve shortlisted nine great activities to help ease you into the new week. There’s a film screening at Alserkal Avenue, Bongo’s Bingo is back and The Incredibles 2 is airing on the big screen. There’s a ladies night to try at Lucky Voice Dubai, too.

Run for the Oceans

Get your sneakers on for the Adidas x Parley event that will see Dubai join in with a global running event. For the first one million kilometres covered, per runner, Adidas will contribute around AED4 per km to the Parley Ocean Plastic Program. The run is to raise awareness about marine plastic pollution, which needs to be stopped. To join the cause, download the Runtastic app and sign up.

Bongo’s Bingo

Bingo, the game often played at retirement homes has been bizarrely revamped with scooters, coco pops, confetti and, erm, even more confetti, to give it a party atmosphere. So it’s great that Bongo’s Bingo is back for a new season. It’s filled with giveaways, dance-offs and a playlist of retro tunes to groove away to. With only three nights available all summer, be sure to catch this one before it’s too late.

‘The If Project’ Screening

In this emotional 90-minute documentary by Kathlyn Horan, a group of inmates from a women’s maximum security prison in the US join a writing workshop co-created by a police officer and a long-standing prisoner. The women reflect on their journey, their sentences and their hopes for release. Catch the only screening of this movie at 7pm.

FIFA 2018 at Atelier M

Atelier M has set up a fan zone especially for the tournament. Four massive screens will air every single second of the tournament so you can be sure that you won’t miss a single goal, penalty or theatrical dive. There will be special food and beverage packages to keep you fueled throughout the daily screenings that take place from 6pm onwards. The venue will also be hosting daily competitions that will see lucky fans walk away with jerseys from the teams taking part and one lucky winner also stands the chance to grab a Brazil shirt that has been signed by the legend that is Pelé.

FIFA 2018 at Atlantis, The Palm

A whopping 2,000 people of all ages can watch the World Cup matches together. With a gigantic 28 square metre HD display you can choose to immerse yourself among the mega fans at “The Stadium” or opt for a more chilled vibe at “The Bench” which has a gaming corner. You could also win a trip to the Cup’s winning nation and a getaway to the hotel.
