Dubai Weekend ShortList
With a new film out, two new brunches, a relatively new gastro pub and international DJ flying into town, we’re spoilt for choice this weekend. All of the events can be packed in over three nights and two days (we’ve checked) so if you’re up for the challenge, try to do it all…
Thursday
Zero Gravity House Party
Zero Gravity is adding a serious evening brunch contender into the mix with its Thursday evening house party. The canapé-style dishes all have a home cooked theme, so expect cottage pie, beef sliders, chicken tortilla wraps, and quinoa salad in nibble form. Drinks are served from pop-up bars and serving stations adding to the house party vibe. For more new brunches, visit our round up.
Zero Gravity, Skydive Dubai Drop Zone, 8pm to 11pm, AED295 inclusive of food and drinks.
Einmusik Live at Level 41
The new clubbing season is heating up, and German DJ Einmusik is one of the first international names to fly-in. Bringing his eclectic mix of electronica to Level 41 on July 31, Einmusik will be supported by Spanish DJ Edu Imbernon. Read out interview here.

Quirky Cafes
You may know your light roasts from your dark roasts but if you think you know all the coffee spots in Dubai like the back of your hand then you may be in for a surprise. Right under your nose, there are myriad little-known cafés waiting to be discovered in the most unexpected places. Open your eyes and you’ll find secret coffee shops taking refuge in the most unusual spaces, from garden centres and art galleries to motorcycle workshops.

Dinner at The Black Lion
Billed as Reform Social & Grill’s ‘trans-Atlantic cousin’, The Black Lion is certainly a welcome addition to the family. The American gastropub serves up Uncle Sam’s favourites, with the likes of fish pie, prawn cocktail and surf & turf. We reckon this is set to become a regular after-work hangout for Downtown residents. Best of all, there’s currently 50 percent off food.
