UAE Public Holiday Dates In 2023!Latest News

The UAE cabinet declared the public and private sector holidays in 2023 on Monday.  The dates were declared through the UAE government‘s official Twitter handle. It’s quite interesting that both public and private sectors give equal numbers of days off. 

People are eagerly waiting for a new year. What if we get a calendar for the new year? Of course, we are scrolling down and marking the public holidays. Especially if you are an employee, you will be happy with the increased number of holidays. UAE is distinct in its own nature of approving holidays.

List Of Holiday Dates

The UAE government equally gives importance to both the public and private sectors. Thereby they are focusing on sustainable development in all sectors of the country. The UAE is also conscious of the employees who are working across the nation. In order to give equality for both government and private sector, they announced an equal number of days off for both sectors.

The national day public holiday has been confirmed by the UAE cabinet. The holidays will start from Thursday, December 1 to Saturday, December 3 with December 4 also being a non-working day. The national day will be 2022’s last official holiday. In addition, The UAE also published the holidays of 2023 also. At last, it’s the end of the long wait.

The decision of giving equal leave for both sectors aims to achieve a balance between the government and private sectors in the number of official holidays they are entitled to.

According To UAE,  Here Is The List Of Approved Holidays

• January 1st: New Year’s day (Sunday)
• April 20th to 23rd: Eid Al Fitr (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)
• June 27th: Arafat Day (Tuesday)
• June 28th to 30th: Eid Al Adha (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday)
• July 21st: Islamic New Year (Wednesday)
• September 29th: Prophet Mohammed’s birthday(Wednesday)
• December 2nd and 3rd: UAE National Day(Saturday and Sunday)

The first public holiday will be New Year’s Day.  The UAE cabinet said the Eid Al Fitr holidays will be expected from April 20 to 23. Next comes Arafat day, which is expected to be June 27. Eid Al Adha is one of the most important days in the Muslim calendar. It will fall between Dhu Al Hijjah 10 and 12. The days are marked between June 28th to 30th. Islamic new year is another public holiday that falls on July 21. September 29 is considered to be Prophet Mohammed’s birthday. The holiday for National holiday will be celebrated on December 2 and 3.

New Year’s Day

The first holiday of the year. January 1 is a public holiday for the UAE for both private and public sectors.

Eid Al Fitr

It’s the first Eid holiday of the year. Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar observed by Muslims worldwide.  It is the month of prayer, fasting, reflection, and community.

Arafat Day

Arafat day is expected to be on Tuesday, June 27.

Eid Al Adha

According to tradition, it is held to honor Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son, after being instructed by god.

Hijri New Year

It is known as Islamic New Year. The day falls on Friday, July 21.

Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday

Prophet Muhammed’s birthday is on Friday, September 29.

Commemoration Day And UAE National Day

Commemoration day is marked on December 1. Immediately after this, UAE National day comes. It will be a three-day weekend for those who enjoy a two-day weekend.
